During our forties and fifties, and particularly during the menopause transition, changes to hormone levels can affect our mood, sleep, heart health, insulin response, gut health and digestion, self-esteem, body image and more.  It’s a time of incredible change, but also the perfect opportunity to redefine what health means for you and take ownership of how you nourish your body - free of dieting culture.

And, a personalised Realign programme will help you understand your changing body and give you clarity and confidence to make manageable, meaningful changes to your nutrition and self-care to help you achieve that.

While everyone has a different experience of midlife health, and particularly the menopause transition itself, there are some common changes and health effects in which nutrition can play a role.

  • Metabolic health, including concerns such as pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Learn how eating intuitively plus experimenting with meal composition, timing and spacing helps you mange your energy and blood sugar.

  • Heart health. Learn what foods to enjoy often to lower LDL cholesterol and reduce risk for heart disease.

  • Gut health concerns. Manage bloating, constipation and other digestive symptoms so they don’t negatively affect your quality of life, and nurture a happy gut to help optimise the gut-hormone connection.

  • Stress and mood changes. Learn nutritional strategies, mindful eating and other practices to help you cope when you may be feeling less resilient or anxious, and help prevent stress from affecting your health and digestion, as well support your focus and cognition.

  • Sleep disturbances. Learn how to experiment with meal timing and composition to help manage the effects of poor sleep and contribute to good sleep hygiene practices.

  • Hot flashes and chills. Learn what foods and drinks may trigger perimenopausal hot flashes and sort through all the confusing information about supplements related to vasomotor symptoms.

I take a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach to midlife health and nutrition because I know the last thing you need to be putting yourself through is a restrictive, short-lived weight-loss diet.

Taking a positive, gentle, personalised approach to nutrition, we will look at how to add foods and harness natural supplements that promote good health over forty, as well as support some of the unique health challenges that are associated with menopause and beyond.

If you have spent years dieting or fighting your body, now is your time to drop this struggle and to reprioritise what’s really important when it comes to caring for your body. My empowering, compassionate approach which draws on Intuitive Eating as well as Nutritional Therapy, can help you find ‘food freedom’, cope with body changes, recalibrate the emotional connection you have with food, and develop a broader, more holistic approach to health beyond weight.

Instead of counting calories and weekly weigh-ins, I will help you realign your focus on nourishing your body and making intuitive and intentional health behaviour changes - because your health is so much more than a number on a scale.
